No *.edb found for database

Error message

"No *.edb found for database 'ServerX\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (ServerX)'"

Cause

This means that the .edb-file on the server is possibly corrupt/incomplete or missing. A restore of the data might be impossible or unreliable

Solution

To solve this error run a Full MS Exchange server Backup.

1. In the main menu click on "Backup"
2. Expand Options (bottom right)
3. Backup type: Full/Database, In-File Delta: Full
4. Click OK to start the backup

The backup will still throw the error as it notices during the start of the backup that's it's missing the edb-file.
The next incremental/differential backup of the database should no longer give the error.
