"The system cannot find the path specified"
"The syntax of the file name, map name or volume name is incorrect."

Cause

This errors means that the temporarily directory selected in de software no longer exists or is not accessible.
This could be the case for example when it is an network mapping or a USB disk that is no longer present.

Solution

  • Check if the chosen path exists.
  • Use a UNC-Path when the target is on the network (\\server\share or \\192.168.10.10\share).
  • Change the path in the software to a location where both the software and user have access to (Settings > Options).
  • Supply the correct Windows Authentication data under the General tab in the software.
  • It could happen that there is a space in the path. This is hidden in de setting for the backupserver hostname.
    • Click on the green puppet icon.
    • Disable "remember password"
    • Log off and on again
    • Remove the space at the hostname setting
