How do I delete data from the account

Problem

The account is full or there is data that has to be removed before the retention policy does this.

Solution

Option 1: Partially deleting the data.
In case you don't have access to the software or using a pre 6.9.0.0 version of the software you will have to delete the data online.

1.1 Software (Local on your machine) (Preferred)

1. Open the software
2. Click on 'Restore'
3. The 'File browser' is now opened, you can now continue with 1.3 Removing.

1.2 Web (Online) (Optional)

Java must be installed and the addon has to be enabled.

1. Go to www.mindtimebackup.com and select "Login" (top right)
2. Login in as "Backup Server (customer)"
3. Go to the 'File Explorer' on top in the bar.
4. Click on the 'Delete' button.
5. You will see a message telling you that the applet is being loaded and that you have to press a button but the applet will open automatically.
   (It's possible that the execution of java will be blocked)
6. The 'File browser' is now opened you can now continue with 1.3 Removing.

1.3 Removing
From this point onward removed data online using the applet or localy trough the software is the same.

1. Choose the set from which you want te remove data.
   • If desired you can now also use the button which does not alter the settings but will remove all data in the selected set.
     Be careful with using this function
2. Click 'Next'
3. Choose the task/date from which the data should be removed (usually the most recent)
4. Select the directories and files that should be removed in the right window
   
5. Click on 'Delete', below the directory tree on the left.
6. The data will now be removed from the online backup server,
   this might take a while and the window has to stay open until completion.

Option 2: Remove the entire set.

1. Open the software
2. Go to the backup set settings (cog)
   
3. You can now remove the set using the red minus sign.
   
   • There has to be at least one set present so if you're trying to delete the last one a blank set without a schedule has to be created first.
