Hotfix installation instructions

Some basics

• Hotfixes should only be applied to the main version of the hotfix itself (The first 3 numbers of the version)
  (e.g. 8.1.1.69 hotfix must only be applied to 8.1.1.X and NOT to 8.1.0.X)
• Hotfixes are only available for partners in the portal.
• Only install hotfixes when told to do so because they are made for specific problems.
• Hotfixes are not extensively tested!
• Stop all running backups (see How do I stop the backup without a GUI in case it's a background process or there is no GUI.

Pro / OBM

1. Shutdown the backup client service by:

• [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Mindtime Online Backup Manager Services ] > [ Stop ]
• [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ CBT Cluster Services (Mindtime Online Backup Manager) ] > [ Stop ] (Windows 2008/2008R2/2012/2012R2 only)
• [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ NFS Service (Mindtime Backup) ] > [ Stop ]

• Run the script file at: [ / Applications / MindtimeProBackup / bin / StopScheduler.sh ]

• Run the script file at: [ / usr / local / obm / bin / StopScheduler.sh ]

• NAS web-interface > Mindtime Pro Backup > Settings (orange square) > Disable the scheduler

• NAS web-interface > Mindtime Pro Backup > Settings (orange square) > Disable the scheduler

2. (For Windows only) Close the system tray icon.

3. Install the hotfix files:

• Expand the hotfix file to [ OBM_Install_Home ] (e.g. C:\Program Files\MindtimeProBackup)

• Expand the hotfix file to [ OBM_Install_Home ] (e.g. /Applications/MindtimeProBackup)

• Expand the hotfix file to [ OBM_Install_Home ] (e.g. /usr/local/obm)

1. Login on the NAS using SSH as the main admin/root user.
2. Expand the hotfix file to [ OBM_Install_Home ] (e.g. /volume1/@appstore/MindtimeProBackup)
   Synology uses 7-zip instead of unzip so the command is: 7z x hotfix.zip
3. Set the permissions for the hotfix files
   1. chmod 755 -R /volume1/@appstore/MindtimeProBackup/obm/wui

1. Login on the NAS using SSH as the main admin/root user.
2. Expand the hotfix file to [ OBM_Install_Home ]
   Legacy or Home class NAS: /share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/MindtimeProBackup/obm
   SMB class NAS: /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/MindtimeProBackup/obm
3. Set the permissions for the hotfix files
   1. chmod 755 -R /share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/MindtimeProBackup/obm/wui

4. Restart the backup client service by:

• [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Mindtime Online Backup Manager Services ] > [ Start ]
• [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ CBT Cluster Services (Mindtime Online Backup Manager) ] > [ Start ] (Windows 2008/2008R2/2012/2012R2 only)
• [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ NFS Service (Mindtime Backup) ] > [ Start ]

• Run the script file at: [ / Applications / MindtimeProBackup / bin / Scheduler.sh ]

• Run the script file at: [ / usr / local / obm / bin / Scheduler.sh ]

• NAS web-interface > Mindtime Pro Backup > Settings (orange square) > Enable the scheduler

• NAS web-interface > Mindtime Pro Backup > Settings (orange square) > Enable the scheduler

5. Installation is now complete.

PC / ACB

1. Shutdown the backup client service by:

• [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Mindtime Online Backup Manager Services ] > [ Stop ]

• Run the script file at: [ / Applications / MindtimePCBackup / bin / StopScheduler.sh ]

2. (For Windows only) Close the system tray icon.

3. Install the hotfix files:

• Expand the hotfix file to [ ACB_Install_Home ] (e.g. C:\Program Files\MindtimePCBackup)

• Expand the hotfix file to [ ACB_Install_Home ] (e.g. /Applications/MindtimePCBackup)

4. Restart the backup client service by:

• [ Control Panel ] > [ Administrative Tools ] > [ Services ] > [ Mindtime PC Backup Services ] > [ Start ]

• Run the script file at: [ / Applications / MindtimePCBackup / bin / Scheduler.sh ]

5. Installation is now complete.
