Ursache

This warning is given typically when the VSS is unable to run due to another instance of VSS already running.

Lösung

Make sure there are no conflicting tasks and schedule the system state to run at a different time.

• More than one backup program installed: Adjust the schedules so there is no conflict between the programs
• Stop and Re-start the Volume Shadow Copy service. Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Volume Shadow Copy > right click and select Restart
• Also a reboot of the machine is been known to clear this issue
• Re-register .dll files associated with VSS service using the provided batch file
