Cause

The encryption key can NOT be changed after the backupset has been made.
This is required to guarantee the integrity of the backupset, and to make sure that data is not secured with multiple keys.

That's why we recommend that you document the key and the selections in a safe place during the creation of the backupset.

It might be problematic of you use two different keys to restore data as the full backup is done with key A and the incremental backups with key B.
When you try to restore data from this the software will keep asking for key A and key B because not all files had an incremental backup at the same time.

A encryption key never leaves the PC it's created on.
We cannot help in recovering the encryption key

You have to create a new backup set to change the encryption key
