Instructions

You can run the Mindtime Backup software trough the Linux-version using the Java SDK-Version (might impact performance) or the FreeBSD default Java SDK.

Undertake the following steps to use the Oracle Java SDK:
  1. Install and the Linux-Version of the software on your FreeBSD machine;
  2. Install the Linux-Version of Oracle Java 1.4.2 or higher on the FreeBSD machine;
  3. Create a symbolic link from $OBM_HOME/jvm to $JAVA_HOME (installed in the previous step);
  4. Run $OBM_HOME/bin/Configurator.sh to configure the software and link it to the account;
  5. Run $OBM_HOME/bin/RunBackupSet.sh [BACKUP_SET_NAME] to start the backup of the specific set;
  6. Run /etc/init.d/obmscheduler start & to start the online backup scheduler service;
Undertake the following steps to use the default FreeBSD Java SDK:
  1. Install the linux version of the software on your FreeBSD machine;
  2. Install the Linux-Version of Oracle Java 1.4.2 or higher on the FreeBSD machine;
  3. Compile the default FreeBSD Java 1.4.2 SDK with the JDK compiuler installed in the previous step
  4. Install the FreeBSD Java 1.4.2 SDK on the FreeBSD machine;
  5. Create a symbolic link from $OBM_HOME/jvm to $JAVA_HOME (installed in the previous step);
  6. Run $OBM_HOME/bin/Configurator.sh to configure the software and link it to the account;
  7. Run $OBM_HOME/bin/RunBackupSet.sh [BACKUP_SET_NAME] to start the backup of the specific set;
  8. Run /etc/init.d/obmscheduler start & to start the online backup scheduler service;
